A 48-year-old woman was killed while two others were hurt after a fatal head-on collision in Bakersfield on Tuesday morning, August 10.

A northbound 2010 Chevrolet driven by a 41-year-old man was traveling on Highway 43 when he veered into the opposite lanes.

The 2010 Chevrolet then collided head-on with an oncoming southbound 2004 Chevrolet. However, the 2004 Chevrolet attempted to swerve away. It reportedly swerved right back into its line and collided with the 2010 Chevy.

A female passenger in the 2004 Chevy was fatally injured in the crash. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the 2004 Chevy driver sustained minor injuries and was taken to Kern Medical for treatment. The 2010 Chevy driver was also injured, but he declined medical receiving medical treatment in the hospital.

Information about the accident is limited at the moment. The identities of the involved parties have not been disclosed. The case is currently under further investigation.
