Two people were killed after a deadly wrong-way collision on 110 Freeway on early Sunday morning, August 1.

[08-01-2021] Los Angeles County, CA - Two People Killed After a Fatal Wrong-Way Collision on 110 FreewayThe accident happened on the southbound lanes of Harbor (110) Freeway at Slauson Avenue at approximately 4:40 a.m. Two vehicles collided head-on under unclear circumstances. One of the vehicles was reportedly traveling in the wrong direction.

The CHP later arrived at the scene and found a 2014 Hyundai and a 2017 Buick blocking the number 3 and 4 lanes on the highway. The driver of the Hyundai and his passenger were killed in the mishap. Their identities have not been disclosed.

Authorities later determined that the 2017 Buick driver was under the influence at the time of the accident. He was identified as 30-year-old Warnervee W. Walton was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving. It’s unclear whether he sustained any injuries from the mishap.

The case is under further investigation. Witnesses that can give more information about the accident are urged to call CHP’s Central Los Angeles area office at 213-744-2331.
