[05-16-2021] San Diego County, CA – One Person Killed, Another Injured After a Major Two-Vehicle Crash in Clairemont

A man in his 20’s was killed while a 29-year-old woman was seriously injured after a major two-vehicle traffic collision in the Clairemont Mesa West area on Sunday evening, May 16.

The accident transpired at approximately 10:20 p.m. on Balboa Avenue at Mount Everest Boulevard.

An eastbound 2016 Toyota Camry was traveling on Balboa Avenue when it collided with a northbound 2018 Honda Accord on Mount Everest Boulevard.

How the collision occurred, and the reason why it happened has not been established. The male Honda accord driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

The female Toyota Camry driver sustained life-threatening injuries. She’s suffering from internal injuries and was immediately taken to an area hospital for treatment.

Local authorities are further investigating the accident. They will attempt to determine the factors and the liability in the crash.
