What Should I Do After an Accident

After collecting information, assuming it is safe, the first step is to file a police report. It allows the police to record what happened during the accident on a central database. They keep these records within the police department in a secure location.

When an accident occurs, the police are usually present at the scene, but if they are not, you can contact your local police by phone or in person and submit the accident report. In this way, if the police are not present at the collision scene, they will collect that information on their own and prepare a police report after the incident.
