[03-27-2023] One Killed, Two Injured After Vehicle Crashed into Two Stalled Cars in Buena ParkOne person was killed and two others were injured after a vehicle crashed into two stalled vehicles that got involved in a prior crash in Buena Park on Monday night, March 27, 2023.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal collision involving three vehicles occurred around 10:51 p.m. on the southbound lanes of Interstate 5 Freeway near Beach Boulevard.

A sedan initially reported as being stalled in the middle of the highway was struck by a second vehicle. Both drivers and a passenger from one of the vehicles were standing outside the first crash when a third vehicle crashed into them and the two stalled vehicles.

The passenger, identified as a 33-year-old man from San Diego, was killed. The drivers of the first crash suffered minor to major injuries and were taken to the hospital. The third driver that crashed into them was unharmed.

Although the investigation is still underway, CHP stated that intoxication is not suspected of having played a role in the collision. Anyone with information is urged to contact them.

All of I-5 Freeway’s southbound lanes were completely blocked near Beach Boulevard for an unknown period of time following the crash.
