Two drivers were hurt following a multi-vehicle crash involving a tow truck in National City on Sunday afternoon, April 3, 2022.
The accident occurred on the 805 Freeway between the 43rd and 47th street exits in National City at approximately 2:30 p.m.
A disabled Dodge Charges was being loaded onto a tow truck on the right side of the freeway when a gray Honda CRV suddenly struck the car.
Due to the severity of the impact, the Dodge Charger landed on top of the semi-truck.
The tow truck driver was standing outside of his vehicle at the accident and was knocked down. Both the tow truck driver and the other driver were injured in the mishap.
Witnesses detailed how the Honda CRV driver was speeding before the crash. Information about the accident is limited at the moment.
An active investigation of the case is currently underway.
