[04-09-2022] Tehama County, CA – 37-Year-Old Man Seriously Injured in Motorcycle Crash in Corning

A Corning man was critically injured when his motorcycle was struck by a GMC Terrain fleeing from pursuing police on Saturday, April 9, 2022.

The chase began when Red Bluff police attempted to stop the GMC around 9:51 p.m. on Saturday after it was identified as a reported stolen vehicle by the department’s license plate recognition system.

The pursuit began when the GMC’s driver, Devin W., 37, of Oakland, refused to yield to the cop’s red lights, leading to South Avenue in Corning.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the GMC struck Julian B., 19, ejecting him from the motorcycle around 10:12 p.m.

Barrajas was flown to Enloe Medical Center in Chico by medical helicopter after suffering internal injuries and multiple broken bones.

Woodward was arrested and booked into the Tehama County Jail on $50,000 bail on suspicion of obstructing/resisting arrest, evading a peace officer with wanton disregard for safety, and vehicle theft.
