[04-28-2026] San Mateo County, CA – Pedestrian Killed After Being Struck by Vehicle in South San Francisco

An 89-year-old man was killed after being struck by a vehicle in South San Francisco, San Mateo County, on Tuesday morning, April 28, 2026.

According to the South San Francisco Police Department, the incident was reported just after 11:30 a.m. at the intersection of Chestnut Avenue and Mission Road.

Authorities identified the victim as Fidel B. of South San Francisco. He was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

Officials stated that the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.

Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
