[05-02-2026] Ventura County, CA – Pedestrian Killed After Being Struck by SUV in Oxnard

A 51-year-old man was killed after being struck by a vehicle in Oxnard late Saturday night, May 2, 2026.

According to the Oxnard Police Department, the incident occurred around 11:30 p.m. in the area of Wooley Road and Commercial Avenue near Five Points.

Authorities reported that the man was crossing Wooley Road just west of Commercial Avenue when he was struck by an SUV traveling westbound. The impact left him in the eastbound lanes, where he sustained major injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Officials stated that he was not in a crosswalk at the time of the collision.

The driver, a 21-year-old from Oxnard, remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Police reported that impairment is not suspected, and no citations had been issued as of the following day.

Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
