The California Highway Patrol has confirmed that two people were killed in a hit-and-run accident on the Riverside (91) Freeway in the Compton area on Saturday, April 30, 2022.
According to the California Highway Patrol, at 12:37 a.m. on the eastbound 91 west of Acacia Avenue.
The CHP initially stated that the parties were with a group of street racers on the eastbound freeway, but that finding was later removed.
According to investigators, a Honda struck the left side of a Toyota 4-Runner, sending it into the right dirt shoulder, where it collided with a pole.
The Honda driver sped away from the scene in his car.
The driver of the Toyota, a 24-year-old Huntington Beach man, and his passenger, an 18-year-old El Monte woman identified as Jadelynn K., were killed in the accident.
