[05-05-2023] One Man Killed After Three-Vehicle Collision Involving Peterbilt Truck in HanfordA 25-year-old man from Fresno was killed after a multi-vehicle collision in Hanford on Friday afternoon, May 5, 2023.

According to the California Highway Patrol, three vehicles crashed on Highway 43, north of Grangeville Boulevard, shortly before 1:00 p.m.

The victim was driving a Nissan on Highway 43 northbound at an unknown speed. The Peterbilt was heading south on Highway 43, and the driver of the Chevrolet was trailing the truck.

The Nissan reportedly swerved to the right onto the gravel/dirt shoulder, overcorrected, sideswiped the Peterbilt, and then spun into the path of the Chevrolet.

At the scene, the 25-year-old male was declared dead. It is unclear if the other drivers suffered injuries in any way.

The authorities are still trying to determine whether drugs or alcohol are factors in the collision. The crash is still under investigation.
