[05-05-2025] Kern County, CA – Man Killed in Fall at Construction Site in Bakersfield

A 39-year-old man, identified as Edin N., was killed in a construction accident in southwest Bakersfield on Monday, May 5, 2025.

According to the Kern County Coroner’s Office, the man fell 20 feet into a trench within another trench near Stockdale Highway and Wegis Avenue.

Kern and Bakersfield fire crews responded to the incident, and his body was recovered on Tuesday morning around 2 a.m.

The coroner’s report indicated that the man was struck by a piece of construction equipment, leading to his death.

CAL OSHA and law enforcement are investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.
