[05-13-2026] Imperial County, CA – At Least One Killed in Crash Involving Big Rig on SR-86 Near Andre Road

At least one person was killed following a crash involving a big rig in Imperial County early Wednesday morning, May 13, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident was reported at around 5:12 a.m. on State Route 86 near Andre Road in Westmorland, north of Brawley.

Authorities reported that the big rig and another vehicle were traveling on Highway 86 when the crash occurred.

Emergency responders, including paramedics, arrived at the scene and provided medical aid to two occupants from the non-commercial vehicle.

Officials confirmed that at least one person died as a result of the collision. The identity of the deceased has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.

Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
