A 70-year-old woman was killed after being struck by a vehicle while riding a mobility scooter in Pollock Pines, El Dorado County, on Wednesday night, May 13, 2026.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred before 9:00 p.m. along Pony Express Trail by the Safeway.
Authorities stated that the woman was crossing the roadway on her mobility scooter when she was struck by a Chevy pickup truck.
The driver of the pickup, identified as a 20-year-old man, remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
No arrest was made, and DUI is not suspected as a factor in the crash. Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the incident.
