[05-29-2026] San Francisco County, CA – Woman Critically Injured After Being Struck by Recycling Truck in Tenderloin

A woman was transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries after being struck by a recycling truck in San Francisco’s Tenderloin neighborhood on Friday morning, May 29, 2026.

According to the San Francisco Police Department, the incident occurred around 8:47 a.m. on the 400 block of Jones Street near Ellis Street.

Authorities stated that the truck driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation, which is being conducted by the department’s Traffic Collision Investigations Unit.

Police confirmed that alcohol and drugs are not believed to be factors in the crash. The truck, operated by Recology, was performing routine recycling rounds in the Tenderloin area at the time of the incident.

Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
