[07-21-2026] Alameda County, CA – Driver Killed in Collision Between Toyota 4Runner and Box Truck on Highway 92 in Hayward

A driver was killed after colliding with a box truck on Highway 92 in Hayward on Tuesday afternoon, July 21, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 3:54 p.m. just east of Industrial Boulevard on the approach to the San Mateo-Hayward Bridge. The Toyota 4Runner, which was towing a U-Haul trailer, struck a 30-foot box truck.

Authorities reported that the driver of the 4Runner was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. The individual was pronounced dead at Sutter Eden Medical Center in Castro Valley just before 4:30 p.m. No identifying information has been released for either driver.

CHP continues to investigate the cause of the collision.
