A two-vehicle collision sent a pregnant woman and young child to the hospital in Arleta Sunday night, September 18, 2022.
According to the Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey, the two-vehicle collision occurred just before 9:00 p.m. at 13952 W. Terra Bella Street.
According to Humphrey, the child was thrown from the vehicle after it was rear-ended by a Toyota Camry attempting to make a U-turn. The accident occurred when the Camry collided head-on with the BMW sedan.
It was not clear whether the child was secured in a car seat with a buckle. Both were taken to the hospital, where their conditions deteriorated rapidly.
However, which driver was at fault in the accident was not made clear.
The investigators are still trying to determine what caused the collision.
