One man was killed and three women were hospitalized after a pickup truck crashed in Boyle Heights, Los Angeles, on Sunday afternoon, September 28, 2025.
According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, the crash occurred around 4:20 p.m. at 100 N. Chicago Street at First Street.
All occupants were in a westbound pickup truck that collided with a parked vehicle. The man in the front passenger seat was pronounced dead at the scene, while three women in the back were ejected and transported to a trauma center, one with critical injuries and two in serious condition. Firefighters used hydraulic tools to free one of the injured from the wreckage.
The 25-year-old driver allegedly fled on foot after the crash but was later taken into custody. LAPD officers reported it is unknown whether drugs or alcohol were factors, and investigators continue to determine the cause of the collision.
