[10-23-2022] San Bernardino County, CA- SUV Plowed Resulting to Multiple Vehicle Collision in Cajon Pass

After her brakes failed, an SUV plowed into several other vehicle collisions in the Cajon Pass on Sunday night, October 23, 2022.

The accident transpired at around 5:52 p.m. The collision was situated just following the truck escape ramp on southbound I-15.

According to a witness, the gray Mercedes GLK350’s female driver rear-ended several automobiles after her brakes failed.

She rear-ended the first car and hit or damaged at least nine others.

One of the affected vehicles was a big rig tractor-trailer that became disabled in the #2, #3, and slow lane.

The CHP issued a traffic alert to address the three blocked lanes. Around 8:45, lanes were reopened. On Main Street in Hesperia, traffic was backed up.

At the scene, there were no serious injuries reported.

There wasn’t much further information at this point. The Inland Office of the California Highway Patrol will look into this event.
