[10-28-2022] Riverside County, CA - One Fatality and a Another Missing After a Single-Vehicle Rollover Crash in AnzaOne driver died, and a second victim may have been located following a rollover crash on a hillside along Highway 74 just east of Anza on Friday, October 28, 2022.

A fatal accident happened around 12:10 p.m., The California Highway Patrol reported that it was on the westbound side of the road, close to Palm Canyon Drive.

According to the agency, a car lost control, veered off the road, and rolled down a 100-foot cliff. There were no further details provided.

Within 20 minutes, Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department crews arrived at the scene and discovered the driver lying nearby with severe injuries.

Unfortunately, the unidentified victim passed away at the scene shortly.

According to reports, firefighters learned that there may have been another passenger in the car, possibly a toddler.

Authorities started the search out of concern that the child may have also been ejected during the collision.

The second individual had not been found as of 1:00 p.m.

For the sake of everyone’s safety and to start an investigation, the CHP closed the highway’s westbound lanes.
