[06-28-2023] San Diego County, CA – Construction Worker Injured After Being Trapped in Collapsed Trench at La Jolla Construction Site

A construction worker was injured after being trapped in a trench at the beachside construction site on El Paseo Grand, San Diego, on Wednesday morning, June 28, 2023.

At approximately 8:55 a.m., the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department confirmed that their crews were rescuing the trapped individual in the 8000 block of El Paseo Grande.

According to the report, the worker was caught in a trapped situation but remained conscious and alert. He is currently stuck beneath a concrete beam, with dirt collapsing around him, exposing his upper body.

The authorities have given the construction worker fluids and pain medication. They know the worker is injured but won’t know the full extent until he is freed.

There is currently no additional information available regarding the condition of the worker or the ongoing rescue operation.
