DUI Accident Statistics
Alcohol-impaired driving continues to be a leading cause of fatal and serious injury crashes on California roads. In 2023, 1,355 people died in alcohol-related crashes, a 4.5 percent drop from 2022, but almost a 55 percent increase compared to 2014.

By addressing multiple risk factors and applying layers of protection, OTS aims to improve safety for all road users throughout California.
