[05-07-2025] Riverside County, CA – Construction Worker Injured After Falling from Scaffolding at University Ave.

A construction worker was injured after falling from scaffolding at a UC Riverside building on Wednesday, May 7, 2025.

According to the Riverside Fire Department, the accident occurred at around 11:25 a.m. on a four-story building adjacent to the athletic field off University Avenue.

Battalion Chief Mike Allen reported that two engine crews and a truck company were dispatched to the scene, where they found the victim, whose identity has not been released, with a moderate leg injury.

Allen explained that the worker was approximately 15 feet above the ground on a temporary support structure when he fell.

The fire department’s technical rescue team used a rope rescue system and an aerial ladder to safely bring the worker down from the roof about an hour later. He was then transported to Riverside Community Hospital with stable vital signs.

The California Occupational Safety & Health Agency is expected to investigate the cause of the accident. No details regarding the nature of the construction project have been released by the campus.
