Fatal Hit-and-Run Accident Investigation is Underway
The Riverside Police Department is currently investigating the case. They are actively pursuing the hit-and-run driver. Witnesses that can provide more information about the crash are urged to call Detective Anderson at 951-826-8723.
Leaving the scene after an accident is considered a crime in itself. Sadly, hit-and-run crashes occur more often than you think. Every year, approximately 2,000 people are killed due to hit-and-run related accidents in the United States, and the numbers have been rising by seven percent each year since 2009.
But why do people leave the scene after an accident? Common reasons why hit-and-run drivers flee the scene are intoxication, driving without a license, and fear of getting arrested if they remain.
Getting an experienced Riverside County wrongful death attorney specializing in hit-and-run accidents is highly encouraged. Attorneys can help the victims navigate through their case and give them the assistance that they need.
Attorneys also have the resources they need to conduct an independent investigation further to prove the guilty party’s negligence.
