[04-16-2026] San Luis Obispo County, CA – Elderly Pedestrian Killed After Being Struck By Vehicle in Parking Lot in Pismo Beach

An 88-year-old pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle in a parking lot in Pismo Beach on Thursday morning, April 16, 2025.

According to the Pismo Beach Police Department, the incident occurred around 10:15 a.m. in the parking lot of Med Plus off Oak Park Boulevard.

When officers arrived at the scene, Med Plus employees were administering first aid to the pedestrian. He was loaded into an ambulance but died during transport to the hospital.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Authorities confirmed that neither drugs nor alcohol were factors in the crash.

The incident is under investigation by the San Luis Obispo County Coroner’s Office.
