[05-08-2024] Alameda County, CA – E-Bike Rider Killed in Collision With Vehicle in Hayward

A 22-year-old man was killed after being struck by a vehicle while riding an e-bike in Hayward on Wednesday afternoon, May 8, 2024.

According to Hayward police, the collision occurred around 4:45 p.m. at the intersection of Mission Boulevard and Orchard Avenue.

The victim, identified as Sai Ram G. of Hayward, was traveling through the area when he was struck by a vehicle driven by a 36-year-old Hayward man.

The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Authorities said intoxication is not believed to be a factor, and the cause of the collision remains under investigation.

The victim was transported to a hospital following the crash and died two days later from his injuries, according to the Alameda County Coroner’s Bureau.
