[05-16-2026] Alameda County, CA – Three Killed, Several Injured After Vehicle Strikes Pedestrians in East Oakland

Three people were killed, and several others were injured after a vehicle struck pedestrians in East Oakland late Saturday night, May 16, 2026.

According to the Oakland Fire Department, the crash occurred shortly before 11:15 p.m. near 85th Avenue and International Boulevard.

Authorities stated that a juvenile driver was reportedly operating a vehicle recklessly before crashing into a parked car, driving onto a sidewalk, and striking a group of people gathered outside a store. Witnesses at the scene reportedly detained the driver until Oakland police officers arrived.

Three people were pronounced dead at the scene. Three additional victims were transported to local hospitals, including two in critical condition and one in serious condition. The suspected driver was among two others who suffered minor injuries.

Authorities have not yet released the identities or ages of the victims. The investigation remains ongoing.
