[08-30-2026] Los Angeles County, CA – Pedestrian Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash in Watts

A man was killed after being struck by two vehicles in Watts, Los Angeles County, on Sunday night, August 30, 2026, with one of the drivers leaving the scene.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the incident occurred around 10:00 p.m. in the 1400 block of East Imperial Highway, just south of the Nickerson Gardens community.

LAPD said the pedestrian was crossing Imperial Highway from the south curb toward the north side when an eastbound, light-colored SUV struck him. The SUV driver allegedly continued without stopping.

While the pedestrian was down in the roadway, a second vehicle traveling westbound on Imperial Highway struck him. Police said the second driver stopped and cooperated with investigators.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have not released his identity.
