[07-02-2021] Adams County, M.S. – Woman Injured After a Walmart Shooting in Natchez

An unidentified woman was seriously injured following a Walmart shooting in Natchez on Saturday night, July 2, 2021.

An altercation between two people transpired in the self-checkout line. Authorities said that the altercation started over a machine not giving 22 cents in change back.

Another man reportedly offered to give the other man the missing change, but the suspect got irritated and started to curse.

As the gentleman went to retrieve a quarter from his car to give to the agitated man, the altercation became increasingly violent. The irritated man ended up shooting a woman and injuring her.

Two officers then attempted to bring the man into custody, but they were also injured. One of the officers was treated on the scene while the other was transported to an area hospital.

The suspect was charged with aggravated assault as well as other charges.
