Two-Vehicle Collision Statistics
Motor vehicle accidents are the leading cause of personal injury in the United States. Every year, nearly 2 million people are injured in car accidents. Meanwhile, between 36,000 and 40,000 people die due to injuries sustained in a car accident annually.
Car accidents are caused by various factors, including careless driving, distracted driving, speeding, drunk driving, and mechanical failure. If you’ve been involved in a car accident, you must remain calm, immediately call the authorities, and get medical help.
Once the police arrive at the scene, you must give them your side of events as honestly as possible. Police reports are a valuable tool to support your accident claim. Remember to get the other driver’s contact and insurance information and the names and contact information of any witnesses, if possible.
Personal Injury Attorney for Victims of Two-Vehicle Collisions in Sacramento County
Each personal injury claim is unique as lawyers need to consider the different factors that caused the accident in the first place. This is why it is not recommended for victims to file their personal injury claim alone. You must prove that the other driver owed you a duty of care and breached that duty of care if you intend to file a claim.
