A police officer was injured after a motorcycle crash in Oceanside on Monday afternoon, October 18.
The crash transpired at approximately 3:00 p.m. on South Coast Highway, just south of Oceanside Boulevard.
The police officer was riding a motorcycle when a Mustang suddenly struck him for unclear reasons. The circumstances leading up to the accident have not been established.
The police officer was taken to Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla. He suffered non-life-threatening injuries and is expected to recover.
The South Coast Highway was shut down for three hours to give way for the cleanup and investigation.
Information about the accident is limited at the moment. The identities of the involved parties have not been disclosed. Local authorities are further investigating the case.
