A 17-year-old student was killed, and another remains in critical condition after being hit by a vehicle on Bethel and Almond Avenues in Sanger, on Tuesday night, February 25, 2025.
According to the Sanger Police Department, the crash occurred at approximately 7:20 p.m. when a 17-year-old boy and a 17-year-old girl were crossing the street and were struck by a driver who did not see them.
Both victims were transported to the hospital, where one of them tragically passed away. Authorities did not disclose whether the deceased was the boy or the girl.
The second victim remains in critical condition. The driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
Sanger Unified School District confirmed that the victims were students, and counseling services are being provided on campuses.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
