What to Do After a Pedestrian Accident
Once the initial shock of the accident has passed, it’s important to take steps to protect your legal rights and strengthen your claim:
- Organize the Evidence You Collected — If you took photos, recorded witness information, or made notes about the scene, keep everything in one secure place. Photos of vehicle damage, road conditions, and your injuries can be valuable for your case.
- Write Down Your Account — It’s important to document the details of the accident while they’re still fresh in your mind. Write down everything you remember, including what the driver was doing, how the accident happened, the weather conditions, and anything else that seems relevant. Even small details can make a difference later.
- Follow Up with Medical Care — If you haven’t already, make sure to see a doctor for a full evaluation. Some injuries, like internal or soft tissue damage, might not show symptoms right away. Having medical records can also provide crucial support for your case.
