Two people were hospitalized following a hit-and-run collision involving two vehicles in Santa Clara County early Friday morning, May 30, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred before 5:00 a.m. on southbound Highway 85 near Blossom Hill Road.
One vehicle sustained major damage, and the two occupants were transported to the hospital for treatment. Authorities stated that both victims are expected to recover.
The second vehicle involved in the crash was found unoccupied nearby. CHP officials are currently working to identify the driver who fled the scene.
The incident remains under investigation.

According to a report from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, hit-and-run crashes were linked to 2,932 traffic-related deaths in 2022. A significant portion of these incidents involved pedestrians and cyclists.
Out of the 7,522 pedestrian fatalities reported that year, around 25 percent involved a hit and run. That means 1,910 pedestrians were killed by drivers who left the scene. Cyclist deaths in hit-and-run crashes rose more sharply, with 40 additional fatalities representing an 18 percent jump.
