[08-03-2025] Riverside County, CA – At Least One Killed in Suspected Wrong-Way Crash on Ramona Expressway in Perris

At least one person was killed in a multi-vehicle crash involving a suspected wrong-way driver in Perris late Sunday night, August 3, 2025.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision was reported at approximately 11:35 p.m. on the westbound Ramona Expressway just east of Bernasconi Road.

One involved party told officers that another vehicle had been traveling the wrong way before crashing into her vehicle.

At least one person was pronounced dead at the scene. The Riverside County Coroner’s Office was called to the location at 12:32 a.m. Monday.

Both eastbound and westbound lanes of the Ramona Expressway were closed at Bernasconi Road as officials conducted their investigation.

Authorities continue to investigate the crash.
