[08-30-2025] Kern County, CA โ€“ 70-Year-Old Man Killed in Pedestrian Collision on Highway 58 in Tehachapi

A 70-year-old man was killed after being struck by a vehicle on Highway 58 east of Mill Street in Tehachapi on Saturday morning, August 30, 2025.

According to the Kern County Coronerโ€™s Office, the victim was identified as Richard Z. of Bellevue, Nebraska. Richard was struck while walking as a pedestrian around 1:38 a.m. and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The California Highway Patrol is investigating the circumstances of the crash. Authorities have not released additional details regarding the driver or vehicle involved.
