What To Do After Being Injured In A Pedestrian Accident

Our personal injury attorneys highly encourage you to take the following steps following a pedestrian accident, provided you are still able to do so. Doing so will help ensure your safety and protect your legal rights to compensation:

  • Prioritize Safety — If you can do so, try to move to the side of the road to avoid further harm. Check yourself and others involved for any injuries.
  • Call The Authorities — Call 911 and report the accident to the authorities. You can ask for the official police report, which will be an important document for your claim.
  • Gather Evidence — Take pictures and videos of the accident scene, your injuries, and other damages. Collect contact information from the driver and nearby witnesses. These can serve as evidence for your claim.
  • Do Not Admit Fault — Even simple statements like “I’m sorry” can be used against you and downplay your claim. Be careful with what you say at the scene or to insurance companies.
  • Seek Medical Care — Go to the hospital for a more thorough medical evaluation and treatment, even if your injuries seem minor or you feel fine. Documenting injuries is critical for an injury claim.
  • Speak To Our Pedestrian Accident Lawyers — Call our pedestrian accident lawyers to discuss your case. We’ll assist you in navigating the legal process and seeking fair compensation. Our pedestrian accident lawyers will take care of your claim and pursue the justice you deserve.
