A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a sedan in East Hemet on Wednesday morning, March 19, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred around 7:10 a.m. at Johnston Avenue and Stanford Street.
Riverside County sheriff’s officials shut down both sides of the roadway following the crash while authorities conducted an investigation.
A coroner was called to the scene about 30 minutes later. CHP records indicate that one of the involved parties may qualify for citation and release rather than arrest.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
