[04-02-2025] Monterey County, CA – 55-Year-Old Man Killed in Minivan Crash on Dolan Road

A 55-year-old man died after being struck by a minivan in Elkhorn, east of Moss Landing, in Monterey County, early Wednesday morning, April 2, 2025.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash took place around 2:35 a.m. at the intersection of Dolan Road and Avila Road. Authorities identified the victim as Thao L., 55, of San Jose.

CHP reports indicate that 59-year-old Silvia Z. was driving a gray Toyota minivan westbound on Dolan Road when the collision occurred. The pedestrian was in the roadway for unknown reasons when the front of the minivan struck him.

Emergency responders confirmed that the victim succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The driver of the minivan was unharmed.

Authorities have not yet determined why the pedestrian was in the roadway. The CHP is actively investigating the incident.
