A pedestrian was killed following a hit-and-run crash east of Gardena early Thursday morning, May 8, 2025.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the collision was reported at approximately 2:40 a.m. at South Figueroa and West 146th streets in the Harbor Gateway area.
Authorities said a vehicle traveling southbound on South Figueroa collided with the 57-year-old pedestrian.
Emergency personnel from the Los Angeles Fire Department pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
Police reported that the driver fled the scene without stopping to assist the victim. No description of the suspect or the vehicle was immediately available.
The crash remains under investigation.
