[06-18-2025] Sacramento County, CA โ€“ Man and Dog Killed in Hit-And-Run Crash at Shopping Center Parking Lot on Antelope Road

A man and his dog were killed in a hit-and-run incident at a shopping center parking lot in Sacramento County early Wednesday morning, June 18, 2025.

According to Metro Fire of Sacramento, crews were dispatched to the scene along Antelope Road around 4:30 a.m., where they found a man had been struck by a vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities believe the man was walking his dog through the parking lot when both were hit. The dog also died as a result of the collision.

The driver reportedly fled the scene on foot after parking the vehicle nearby. No description of the suspect or the vehicle has been released.

The California Highway Patrol is actively investigating the incident.
