[07-02-2025] Ventura County, CA – Woman and Child Killed, Four Injured in Head-On Collision on Highway 126 in Fillmore

A head-on collision involving two vehicles left a woman and a young boy dead and four others injured in Fillmore on Wednesday night, July 2, 2025.

According to the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred at approximately 8:45 p.m. near the intersection of Highway 126 and D Street, also known locally as Ventura Street.

An initial investigation revealed that the vehicles collided head-on in the westbound lanes of Highway 126, west of D Street.

A 28-year-old woman from Oxnard was pronounced dead at the scene. Five additional individuals were treated at the site and transported to local hospitals, including a 5-year-old boy from Fillmore who later died from his injuries.

The identities of the deceased are being withheld pending notification of their next of kin.

The California Highway Patrol and the California Department of Transportation assisted with traffic control as deputies conducted their investigation.

The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office is leading the investigation.
