[09-12-2025] Los Angeles County, CA โ€“ Woman Killed After Being Struck By Vehicle at 68th Street and Long Beach Boulevard in Long Beach

A woman was killed after being struck by a Chevrolet Camaro at 68th Street and Long Beach Boulevard in Long Beach on Friday, September 12, 2025.

According to the Long Beach Police Department, the crash occurred around 12:16 p.m. The woman was using a crosswalk when the driver of the Camaro hit her.

The driver initially fled the scene but returned approximately 40 minutes later. Long Beach Fire Department personnel transported the woman to a local hospital, where she died from her injuries. Her identity has not been released pending notification of relatives by the Los Angeles County Medical Examinerโ€™s Office.

The driver, identified as 65-year-old Eric M. of Los Angeles, was taken into custody on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and leaving the scene of a crash. Bail was set at $50,000. Police stated that speed, distracted driving, and impaired driving do not appear to have been factors in the crash.

Authorities continue to investigate and ask anyone who witnessed the incident to contact LBPD detectives.
