A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a Ford Mustang in the Camp Pendleton area, San Diego County, early Monday morning, September 22, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred shortly before 12:30 a.m. on southbound Interstate 5 near Basilone Road.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. CHP reported that alcohol or drugs are not suspected for the driver, and investigators have not determined whether they played a role in the pedestrian.
