A multi-vehicle collision on westbound State Route 76 in Pala, San Diego County, left one person dead and three others injured on Sunday morning, September 28, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 1:47 a.m. near the 12776โ13355 block of SR-76.
Three vehicles, including a Dodge SUV and a Honda Civic, were involved. At least one vehicle was blocking lanes, and another went off the roadway.
Cal Fire crews responded and requested two flatbed tow trucks. Tow companies SandR and Sunshine removed the vehicles from the scene.
CHP confirmed the incident as a fatality and issued a SIG Alert around 3:00 a.m., keeping lanes closed while investigators processed the scene. The identity of the deceased has not yet been released.
